SFCA Art Exhibition 2026: Artistes sans frontières
Welcome to the 2026 Art Exhibition for sixth form college students.
This year, the next generation of talented young artists reflect on borders, conflict, and connectedness through the theme of Artistes sans Frontières. The exhibition theme is open to interpretation – deliberately.
Artistes sans Frontières have freedom to express themselves; there are no limits and no constraints on their imagination, their content or their style and expression.
Artistes sans Frontières are not bound by social pigeon-holes, political ideologies or conventional norms.
Artistes sans Frontières is a theme which also implies a commitment to lead a moral life, to be kind, to serve others and to do what is right even when that can be very difficult.
This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the arts and advance their place in the curriculum, and their importance in our lives. It is also a time to recognise excellence in sixth form colleges and the talent, creativity and sensitivity of the students. It is imperative that we keep the arts in education secure and flourishing. If young people are to make a truly valuable contribution to society, even if they are to be successful scientists, engineers, doctors and technicians, they need to develop their creative skills, their artistic sensitivities and their ability to communicate and interact with others.
