APPG for sixth form education calls for answers on catch-up fundBack
On Friday 19th June, the Government announced a major new £1bn support package to help students catch up after Covid-19. Sixth form providers were included in the original version of the announcement seen by the press on Thursday evening, but were then removed. We still do not know why this happened, nor whether sixth formers in schools have also been excluded. Officers of the APPG on sixth form education, which includes MPs from all major parties, have today written to the Secretary of State seeking urgent clarification on these questions and to ask that eligibility be extended to all 16-19 providers. You can read the letter here.
