A leading A Level and BTEC provider in the Merseyside/Cheshire area, Birkenhead Sixth Form College was rated as Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in 2017.
The College was named the UK’s ‘Sixth Form College of the Year 2018’ at the TES Awards, and government school league tables put the College’s A Level results as best in Wirral in terms of student progress in 2017 and for BTECs in 2018. Results have also placed in the top 10% nationally by ALPS for five years running.
Many students come to the College from areas of socio-economic deprivation but a commitment from students and staff alike towards purposeful hard work, positivity and ambition results in potential being fulfilled and even bettered, no matter the young person’s starting point.
Over half of the College’s students achieve the prestigious A* - B grades at A Level and Distinction* or Distinction at BTEC, with nearly 90% continuing onto university.
