The SFCA and the centenary arts programme 14-18 NOW invite you to a conference focused on excellence in practice with the Extended Project Qualification.

A deeply practical and creative day with key insights from international experts including:

  • Professor Bill Lucas, Director of the Centre for Real World Learning and Professor of Learning at the University of Winchester. An authority on creativity and international co-Chair of the new PISA test of Creative Thinking. 
  • Andria Zafirakou, Global Teacher of the Year 2018 and the first ever UK winner. Art and Textiles teacher and Associate Deputy Headteacher of Alperton Community School, leading on staff professional development reigniting the sixth form curriculum, including the EPQ. 

The EPQ plays a critically important role in broadening sixth form students’ learning, developing their independent, analytical and research study skills, and preparing them for Higher Education and the workplace. This invaluable day will focus on:

  • the ambition to promote the EPQ as a vehicle for students to pursue their passions and interests
  • development of practical and inspiring ways to deliver the EPQ, including using 14-18 NOW Make Art Not War as an exemplar vehicle
  • take-away materials for learning pathways and strategies back at college
