Teacher and Support Staff pay awards agreed for 2023/24

SFCA is pleased to confirm that agreements have been reached on the NJC support staff pay award and the NJC teachers’ pay award for 2023/24.

All support staff will receive an increase of 6.5%, plus incorporation of the Support Staff Standards Payment (SSSP) into their salary to provide an additional £390 to basic pay for all support staff.

All teachers will receive a 6.5% increase, except those teachers on pay point 1, who will receive an 8.44% pay increase to move their base salary to £30,500 p.a.

SFCA member institutions are, of course, keen to recognise the hard-work and dedication of all support staff and teachers in the sixth form college sector and to implement these pay increases for 2023/2024.

Colleges will work to implement the increases on the support staff pay spine, teachers’ main pay scale and leadership scale, and all relevant allowances, including London and fringe allowances, to take effect from 1st September 2023.

We believe the agreement is fair to colleges and to hard-working teachers and support staff within the sector.
