SFCA responds to reviews of summer vocational results

Back

Responding to today’s publication of reviews by Ofqual, Pearson, and OCR into late vocational results in August 2022, Bill Watkin, Chief Executive of the Sixth Form Colleges Association, said:

"The simultaneous publication today of three reviews into the reasons why so many students did not receive their VTQ grades on time last summer, shows how seriously the authorities are taking this. This morning, we got some welcome clarity and an acknowledgement that last year’s problems did not arise from systemic failures in centres.

We also got some meaningful plans to prevent this situation occurring again. Sixth form colleges are now thinking about the future and will welcome the focus on those measures, such as CPD and support for often-beleaguered exams officers and their teams, designed to ensure that we have a relatively problem-free summer in 2023."
