BOOSTING YOUR MEDIA INTERVIEW RESPONSE SKILLS

By the end of the session, for up to 4 participants, it’s envisaged that those involved will enhance their ability to perform effectively in media interviews and be better placed to take their media interview performances on behalf of their college to a higher level by: 

• Formulating the best possible messages to convey in media interviews while appearing as a spokesperson for their college - both on challenging topics with potentially tough questions and in situations where there is a good opportunity for winning positive publicity for the college - where the right kind of accurate responses are given
• Understanding the way journalists think and work in order to capitalise on the media agenda
• Knowing how to go into media interviews with increased confidence and getting the college’s messages across
• Understanding the importance of providing appropriate illustrations - such as examples, facts and figures - to back up the college’s messages
• Knowing how to remain composed and effective during tricky or challenging interview situations
• Gaining an understanding of what’s required to perform effectively in different kinds of interviews with TV, radio, newspapers, magazines, news websites and other online news-focused organisations
• Drawing upon what you glean on media interview response skills and applying the relevant lessons to boosting personal impact in face-to-face professional interactions
• Developing an understanding of what further work may be required to take participants to a still higher level of media performance in any potential further training opportunities.

Training is facilitated by Michael Dodd, media and presentation coach and former journalist.

There is an option to include a videographer.  This will include playbacks within the sessions and copies of individual recordings sent afterwards for each participant.

Media Interview Response Training Days - with trainer and videographer -  £2,300

Transport within London is included. Transport outside London, and accommodation where necessary, is additional.
