SFCA represents the interests of 16–19 providers at formal and informal meetings with politicians, government officials and stakeholders. SFCA co-ordinates the activities of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Sixth Form Colleges – a group of MPs that make representations on behalf of the sector in parliament. Our members guide us on their key sector issues, and many of the recommendations in our election manifesto and spending review submission have been implemented by the Government.
SFCA represents the interests of all our members at many formal and informal meetings with politicians, government officials and stakeholders. SFCA uses trade and national media to ensure sector issues are widely publicised. Our campaigning activities combine media
coverage with political pressure, research, discussions with civil servants and think tanks, and the successful mobilisation of college staff, governors and students.
Supporting our members
We produce a range of publications to directly support 16–19 providers. Our many conferences and workshops ensure members are fully up-to-date on key sector developments and provide valuable networking opportunities.
Bespoke advice and support on employment issues is available to all members. We employ a dedicated Employment Issues Advisor with legal expertise who provides practical solutions to employment and HR questions. SFCA provides advice and brokerage on all industrial relations issues that our members experience. We work closely with national officers of the trades unions.
