In addition to representing Sixth Form Colleges in the annual negotiations on national pay and conditions with trade unions, the Association represents the interests of Sixth Form Colleges at many other formal and informal meetings with politicians, government officials and stakeholders.
Chief Executive, David Igoe is also a member of the Ministerial Working Group and the Association has its own Principals Reference Group which recently met with Matthew Hancock in February. In January 2013 the Association worked with Kelvin Hopkins, MP to set up an All Party Parliamentary Group for Sixth Form Colleges, which currently has 38 members.
